# Unit Weight of Materials Used at the Construction site:

## 👉 Civil Engineer

Unit Weight is also known as Specific weight. Unit weight is the weight of the material per unit volume. That’s Means, how much weight of the material can be used. As we know that the volume is quantified in terms of liters (Lt) or cubic meters (m3) and weight is measured in terms of Kg or KN. The unit weight of materials is the weight of material/unit volume which means the Unit weight is expressed in Kg/L or KG/m3 or KN/m3.

## How to convert from Kg/m3 to KN/m3

As,

1Kg/m3 = 1Kgf/m3

where (Kgf/m3 = Kilogram-force per cubic meter)

We Know that,

1000 Kgf/m3 = 9.80665 KN/m3 (free fall gravity)

So, 1Kgf/m3 = 9.80665/1000 KN/m3

= 0.00980665 KN/m3

≈ 0.01 KN/m3

Finally, we get

1Kgf/m3 = 1Kg/m3 ≈ 0.01 KN/m3

If you want to convert Kg/m3 to KN/m3 use can use this formula.
